Right, so, onto painting. First up - some Perry Miniatures Hessian Jagers for the American War of Independence:
I don't know if it's just that my eyes and hand are unable to cope, or the size of the sculpts, but I couldn't paint convincing pupils in the eyes of these guys - sorry Geoff. |
Followed by a Dutch artillery crew for the Nine Years War:
These guys have eyes - good old Front Rank |
I have a dozen or so Nine Years War Dutch Dragoons that have now migrated to the painting tray to wind up this group of figures from Geoff.

Having painted a number of the Perry jaegers myself, the Perry Germans are excellent sculpts in a variety of poses. My Perry figures always arrive with the packing tufts sticking to all of the vent flash. I never seem to be able to completely rid a Perry figure of all of its annoying vent flashing. Oh well, I do enjoy painting them.
ReplyDeleteYour 9YW Dutch dragoons are splendid! Very fine brushwork!
Thanks Jon. Yes, some of the Perry figures can have a lot of flash attached - Geoff cleans his figures before he sends them to me, which is a major time-saver!
DeleteSplendid uniforms and great paint brush, love the Dutch artillery crew....
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful Nate, great work.
ReplyDeleteCheers Michael.
DeleteThey look great Nate! I have been over at Geoff's tonight for a game and he was telling me how much he like these.
ReplyDeleteGood news! Were you playing Napoleonics with the OHW variant?
DeleteWonderful paintjobs on some lovely looking minis, Nate. I especially like the blue uniforms you've achieved on the Dutch artillery crew.
