But not before I've taken pictures of them!

Command group |

A group of dragoons - I love the officer with the pistol |
|
Dragoons skirmishing |
|
I love this combo - a mounted dragoon holding his comrades' horses |
|
I like it so much I took two pictures of it! |

And after a gentle reminder, I updated these guys to have hat lace and white cravats! |
These went into the post half an hour ago, so I hope Geoff is happy with the final result.
Figures are all 28mm Front Rank from their Late Seventeenth Century range and are what I would consider the best figures available not just for this period, but in historical wargaming!
Nate
awe....these are real beauties! The figures and brush work are lovely. The colour skin tones on the faces and hands are great!
ReplyDeletecheers,
Thanks Phil. Glad you like them.
DeleteFantastic brushwork! Dismounted dragoons with mounts are especially nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jon, although I have to give a lot of credit to the sculptor - nice sculpts are always so much easier to paint!
DeleteGreat details on these fantastic uniforms!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil/
DeleteGeoff rang me an hour ago to tell me how great they are. He loves them and so do I. Excellent work Nate!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing some pictures of them based Rodger - you're in charge of that aren't you?
DeleteI will see to it.
DeleteWow, very nice indeed.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Michael - just trying to catch up to your standard!
DeleteI thought they'd be right up your alley Ray!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully painted although not a big fan of Front Rank's exaggerated anatomy - they are starting to look old fashioned now compared with the likes of Empress' ECW.
ReplyDeleteThey are a bit sausage fingered - but I quite like that aesthetic. And it fits so well with the voluminous coats of the period. I find that 'realistic' proportions work well in some eras, but don't always capture the feel of the period somehow. I actually find Empress' ECW a bit too willowy for my tastes, whilst I love the look of their Modern range. Whatever the case, we're lucky to have so much choice available to us these days!
