Backyard bash. Clobberin time game.

Time to start my attempt to play 36 games this year as part of the 6x6 challenge. Now I'm on holiday at the moment and couldn't bring much, so I grabbed a few supers with the idea of having a couple of games of clobberin time. I didn't have room for terrain, but luckily there is a big bag of Lego at the beach-house. So I constructed a small backyard to have a one on one game between Captain Kiwi and Compost. This is actually the origin of Compost who was the result of a failed methamphetamine cook up which was dumped into a compost heap. After terrorising suburban Auckland Captain Kiwi has caught up with him as he searches forlornly for a Mrs Compost.
The backyard battlefield, complete  with pizza oven, lawnmower and compost heap.
It was a hard fought battle. Captain Kiwi more than held his own toe to toe which I wasn't expecting . Compost kept cornering him but couldn't deliver the killer blow. the Captain needed to 'solve a puzzle' in order to wound Compost. he had to be in contact with the pizza oven to set Compost on fire. This he eventually managed.

Blogging on my phone is excruciating so I won't post any more battle reports until next week, but there'll probably be 2 or 3 in one post.

  1. I feel I am falling behind in the challenge already...

I think I have also done what you have once a few years ago and just grabbed stuff (also at a beachhouse!) to use as terrain pieces.

    1. I was pretty happy that the Lego was handy. For tonight's game I've got the kids to build me some scenery. Lego scenery actually makes a lot of sense for superheroes. They can literally break the terrain and it can be repaired again for the next game.

    2. We're six days into January already, and I haven't played a single game on my list yet. Hopefully that should end this coming weekend :)

  2. Any chance of a more complete scenario write-up when you're on a proper blogging device please?

    1. I've got another two games to write up with some comments and suggestions on the mechanics. The discrepancy in effects between allocation of a red die and the ability to reroll is a bit of a balancing act. Hopefully I'll have the battle reports up on Monday.
